BRRC Summer Track Series
The Baltimore Road Runners Club organizes an annual Summer Track Series held across several weekday evenings in June and July at Calvert Hall College High School in Towson and Maryvale Preparatory School in Lutherville. The series includes multiple individual meets on specified dates in June and July.
The meets are described as developmental track events focused on learning, participation, competition experience, and skill development. Entry to the Summer Track Meets is free and open to all runners. Donations support the Charlie Reynolds Memorial Scholarship Fund. Registrants must sign waivers and participants under 18 require parental or guardian permission.
Distances and event types include:
- 1 Mile (Meet of Miles, age and gender heats)
- 100 m
- 200 m
- 400 m
- 800 m
- 1600 m
- 3200 m
- 2 Miles
- Relay events
A tetrathlon is offered; qualification for tetrathlon awards requires completing all four designated events: 400 m, 800 m, 1600 m, and 3200 m. Youth programming includes Tots and Toddlers age 5 and under and Junior Sprinters in age groups 6-8 and 9-12, with treats and recognition for attendance.
Venue notes: the Calvert Hall track entrance and parking are on the Putty Hill Avenue side of the school. Maryvale Preparatory School parking is on the Falls Road side. Weather, heat index, and air quality are monitored; a heat index threshold of 95 and air quality cutoffs may affect meet status, and last minute changes or cancellations are possible. Updates are posted on the club website and social media. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
