Brown County Fair Foundation 5K Fun Run/Walk
The Brown County Fair Foundation 5K is a community-focused participation event held in Aberdeen, South Dakota. The event takes place on the Saturday prior to the official start of Fair week, beginning and ending at the Brown County Fair Office located at 400 24th AVE NW. Proceeds from the registration fees are used to support the Brown County Fair and enhance the fairgrounds experience.
Participants can complete the 5K distance by running, walking, or biking. This event is designed as a non-competitive activity to promote movement and local engagement. Because the focus is on participation rather than competition, the event features:
- No timing or official results
- No race bibs
- No competitive pressure
The course follows a route that crosses 24th Avenue twice. While traffic is generally light in this area, participants are expected to remain alert and use caution at these crossings. A water station is provided along the route, and volunteers are stationed at key locations for assistance.
Registration includes a event t-shirt for each participant. The event coincides with the arrival of campers at the fairgrounds, contributing to the energy leading up to the annual festivities. All ages and abilities are invited to take part in this relaxed 5K event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
