Broughshane 5 Mile
Ballymena Runners, with main sponsor The Thatch Inn Gastro Pub Broughshane, presents the Broughshane 5 Mile Road Race on Monday 17 August 2026 at Broughshane Community Centre on Knockan Road. The event uses an Athletics NI officially measured five mile route around the village and is described as a fast flat course.
Entries open 26 April 2026 and close at midnight on 9 August 2026. Entries are capped and there will be no entries on the night. Entry fees are Affiliated £24.00 and Non-Affiliated £26.00. Entrants who register before 26 July 2026 are guaranteed a bespoke technical running vest.
The minimum age is 16 years on or after the event date. All finishers receive a bespoke commemorative medal. Open male and female prizes are £100, £75 and £50 for first to third. Age category prizes of £30 apply across multiple age groups and are based on chip time. Team prizes are determined by the lowest cumulative finishing positions of the top four club counters. The top junior male and female under 18 each receive £30.
Race number collection is available at The Thatch Inn on Sunday 16 August from 13:00 to 15:00 and at Broughshane Community Centre on the day from 16:00 to 18:30. There are no refunds or deferrals; transfers and name changes can be made online until midnight 10 August 2026.
Parking is available at several nearby locations and public toilets will be open on the main street until 21:00. Pacers from the host club will lead groups targeting a range of finish times.
