Broughshane 5 Race
Ballymena Runners stages the Broughshane 5 mile road race in the village of Broughshane on 17 August 2026. The course is described as fast and flat and is an Athletics NI officially measured 5 mile route. The event is based at Broughshane Community Centre on Knockan Road.
Entries are capped and the event is currently full with a waiting list in operation. The minimum age for entry is 16 years on the event date. Entry fees are listed as £24 for affiliated runners and £26 for non‑affiliated runners, and entrants who register before 26 July 2026 receive a bespoke running vest.
All finishers receive a commemorative medal as they finish. Prize money is provided for male and female open winners and age categories, with stated amounts for top places and category prizes paid by chip time. Team prizes use the lowest cumulative finishing positions. There is a top junior prize for under 18s.
Race number collection is available at The Thatch Inn on Sunday 16 August (early collection) and at Broughshane Community Centre on race day. There are no refunds or deferrals; transfers and name changes are permitted online until 10 August 2026. Parking is available at several village locations with public toilets noted on the main street. Pacers from Ballymena Runners will be present for a range of target times.
