Brothers for Life 5k
The Brothers for Life 5k is a community athletic event held in Decatur, Alabama. The event takes place at Point Mallard Park and serves to support local first responders, including firefighters, police officers, EMS professionals, and dispatchers. There are several participation options available:
- 5k Run
- 5k Ruck
- 1 Mile Fun Run / Walk
For the ruck division, specific weight requirements are established based on gender, with a 30 lb requirement for males and a 20 lb requirement for females. Participants who register by the early deadline of July 28th receive an event shirt.
Packet pickup is organized over two days. On the Friday evening prior to the event, participants can collect their materials at Cross Eyed Owl Brewery. On the morning of the event, pickup is also available on-site at Point Mallard Park. The event coincides with the Brothers for Life Benefit Fund, which focuses on supporting brave men and women in the emergency services sector.
