Brooklyn Pride LGBTQIA+ 5K Run/Walk
The Brooklyn Pride LGBTQIA+ 5K Run/Walk is a community road event in Prospect Park, New York, presented by Maimonides Health. The event is a 5-kilometre loop in the park and includes organized packet pickup and post-race amenities.
Early packet pickup is offered at Brooklyn Running Company, located at 480 Bergen Street in Park Slope, and additional packet pickup is available at the event site in the Bartel-Pritchard Lot. Participants must know their bib number to collect their bib; a self-lookup area is provided for those who do not. There is no same-day registration and participant capacity is capped.
Every participant receives a specially designed Brooklyn Pride Run t-shirt and a custom engraved finisher’s medal. The event provides a bag drop area, portable bathroom facilities, water provided by smartwater, and post-race snacks. Live online, email, and text results are available, along with free video and same-day finish line photos; additional event photos are posted on Facebook.
Awards recognize the top finishers by gender category and age groups. Overall awards are given to the top three F/M/NB finishers. Age-group awards are presented to the top finisher in each gender category for the following ranges: 13 & under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Awards are provided by Brooklyn Running Company.
Event policies note that children may participate although youth t-shirt sizes are not available, strollers are permitted if participants start at the back of the pack, dogs are not allowed for liability reasons, and refunds or transfers are not accommodated though an entry may be converted to a donation. Group registration options exist for ten or more participants and require a single upfront payment with individual registration using a provided code.
