About the race
The Brooklyn Pride LGBTQIA+ 5K is a community run and walk held in Prospect Park, New York. The event is presented by Maimonides Health and features a single 5K distance for participants.
Registration is not yet open for the next edition and the event does not offer same day registration when entries are limited by park restrictions. Early packet pickup is offered at Brooklyn Running Company, 480 Bergen Street in Park Slope, on the Thursday and Friday before the race from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. Race day packet pickup takes place at the Bartel-Pritchard Lot at the event site beginning at 8:30 am. Runners who register close to pickup are provided methods to look up or receive their bib numbers.
Amenities for participants include a specially designed Brooklyn Pride Run t-shirt, a custom engraved finisher medal, a bag drop area, portable facilities, and post-race water provided by smartwater plus snacks. Children may participate without an age restriction, though youth t-shirt sizes are not available. Strollers are allowed if participants start at the back of the pack for safety. Dogs are not permitted.
Awards recognize top finishers by gender category and age groups, including Top 3 overall for female, male, and nonbinary and first place in each age group.
