Event Overview
The Brooklyn Mother's Day event takes place in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, New York City. Participants gather at the Greek Shelter (Peristyle) on the south side of the park, near Parkside Avenue, which serves as the primary meeting point, check-in area, and finish line. The course is designed around a loop within the park, with the official start line located approximately a tenth of a mile from the finish area.
Available distances include:
- Half Marathon: A 13.1 mile course consisting of four loops.
- 10K Race: A two-loop course.
- 5K Race: A single loop course.
The event utilizes electronic timing for every lap, providing runners with real-time splits and a final time. Support on the course includes three water stations per loop. In addition to water, these stations provide Gatorade and power gels.
Registered participants receive a technical T-shirt in male or female cuts, a die-cast finisher medal with a full-color ribbon, and access to live tracking and streaming services. Runners who register at least four weeks before the event receive a personalized bib, while those registering later receive a commemorative version. Digital amenities include finisher photographs and video.
Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers. Additionally, age group awards are provided for the top three male and female finishers in several categories: 19 and under, and then in 10-year increments from the 20s through to 70 and over.
