Broadview Heights Mayor Alai's 5K
This event takes place in conjunction with the Broadview Heights "Home Days on the Green." It offers two activities: a chip-timed 5K run and an untimed 1 mile walk/run. Both activities start and finish at the Broadview Heights Community and Recreation Center.
The course is mostly on road, with a portion on a gravel path, which may be slippery. Free on-site parking is available. Participants can receive a race shirt if registered by a specified date, subject to availability.
Refreshments of fruit and water are provided at the finish line. All participants aged 21 and over receive a free alcoholic beverage sponsored by a local brewery; a sports drink is the alternative. Awards are given to the top overall male and female finishers, and to the top three 5K finishers in each age group.
Standard registration is $25, increasing to $30 after a specified date. A family rate of $23 per person is available for three or more people living at the same address. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
