Brineman Triathlon
Brineman is a multisport event held at Still Water Lakes Resort with the finish area at Jensen Nature Park in Syracuse, Utah. The event includes triathlon, duathlon, and aquabike formats plus relay teams. Transition areas T1 and T2, timing chip distribution, and optional body marking are located at Still Water Lakes.
The swim takes place in the north lake at Still Water. Water temperature in September is expected between 68 and 75º Fahrenheit. A rolling start is used and swim caps are color coded by distance: pink for Long Course, green for Olympic, and red for Sprint. Lifeguards on kayaks and SUPs monitor the swim.
Race rules and safety follow USA Triathlon guidelines. Important bike rules include mandatory helmets, no headphones, and no drafting. Aid stations are provided on the run at about every mile; the Long Course bike has two aid stations while the Sprint and Olympic bike courses have none. Parking and the finish line are at Jensen Nature Park with additional neighborhood parking nearby.
Race timing provides swim bike and run splits and overall times. Awards are given to top three overall and to multiple age group categories, Clydesdale and Athena divisions, and relay placings. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
