Brigg Poppy 10K & Military Challenge
The Brigg Poppy 10K & Military Challenge is a road running event held in Brigg Town Centre. This officially measured and UKA-licensed race takes place on closed country roads, beginning and ending in the Brigg Market Place. The event has a total capacity of 1,200 participants and supports the Royal British Legion through ticket sales and fundraising.
Participants can choose from the following event options:
- 10 km Poppy Run
- 10 km Military Challenge
- 10 km Virtual Event
The standard 10 km run is a flat and fast course suitable for individuals who wish to walk, jog, or run. The Military Challenge is limited to 40 participants and requires runners to complete the distance wearing a weighted backpack. In accordance with event guidelines, the weight requirement for the pack is 36lb for men and 24lb for women. Participants must provide their own weighted packs and boots for this specific challenge.
Race numbers are collected on the Saturday or Sunday before the event. Additional options include the purchase of event t-shirts, which support charitable aims and community coaching programs. The event also offers a virtual participation option for those unable to attend in person at the venue. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
