Bridging the Gap Walk
The Bridging the Gap Walk is the fourth annual community walk in Dallas focused on improving access to mental health treatment. The event takes place at the Felix H. Lozada Sr. Gateway and the Ronald Kirk Pedestrian Bridge / Continental Avenue Bridge area in West Dallas, with a noted start point on the west side of the bridge across from Trinity Groves. Addresses listed include 3000 Gulden Ln. and 109 Continental Avenue.
The walk is organized by the Bridging the Gap Foundation and aims to promote mental health parity and equal access to quality mental health services regardless of demographics, ethnicity, geography, or socioeconomic status. Past participation has increased annually: 193 in 2023, 240 in 2024, and 280 in 2025; the 2026 target is 500 participants.
This is a walking-only event with a distance of 1.5 Miles. Registration details include a fee of $30 and registration open and close dates. The day includes community activities and festivities tied to the walk. Dogs are permitted but must remain leashed and participants are asked to confirm local policy before bringing animals.
