Brian Goodwin Memorial 10k
The Brian Goodwin Memorial 10k is organized by the Bellahouston Harriers and takes place in Glasgow. The event is staged over a two-loop course that is primarily located within the grounds of Pollok Park. The route is officially certified and utilizes traffic management controls to ensure that any sections of the race held outside the park remain on traffic-free roads.
The race begins and ends at Cartha Queen's Park RFC on Dumbreck Road. Participants run a distance of 10 km. The event is held under UK Athletics rules and is a Scottish Athletics licensed competition. The course has historically produced fast times, with a significant portion of the field finishing under 40 minutes in previous years.
At the conclusion of the race, participants receive a beer and a burger at the finish line. The clubhouse at Cartha serves as a gathering point for runners and supporters, hosting a barbecue and the prize-giving ceremony.
Awards are presented across multiple categories, including:
- 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Senior Male and Female.
- 1st place in Age Categories from U20 to V70.
- 1st place Male and Female Teams.
Registration is available with a fixed limit of 520 places. Entries for the race typically close in early June, or earlier if the event reaches capacity. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
