Brent Knoll Race
The Brent Knoll Race is an off-road hill event set around Brent Knoll in Somerset, organised from the Burnham Association Of Sports Clubs. The course is approximately 6 miles long, with about 569 ft of elevation, and mixes footpaths, bridleways and quiet country roads.
The route includes a steep ascent to the summit, a half circuit around the top, and steep descents back to the sportsground. Trail conditions can be muddy and uneven, so trail trainers are recommended. There are no water stations on the course; drinks are provided at the finish.
Facilities at the sportsground include toilets and changing rooms, a limited bag drop left at the owner’s risk, onsite parking with a height barrier for high-sided vehicles, and marshals to direct vehicles. The sportsground will offer drinks and snacks after the race. BASC operates a strict no-dogs policy. In line with England Athletics rules, only bone-conduction headphones are permitted.
Entry details list a fee of £20 with a £2 discount for valid England Athletics numbers, and entries close on 18th November. Prizes include top three male and female finishers, age category winners, and a unique medal for all finishers. Kinisi Run Hub will be present with a stand and trail shoe demos.
