Breezy in Brighouse & Special Solstice Run
The event is set at Brookfoot Footbridge in Brighouse and follows the Calder & Hebble navigation canal along a canal towpath. The out-and-back route passes green canal-side scenery and is described as not overly challenging.
Four distances are offered:
- Two Summer Solstice 5k races
- 10k
- Half marathon (2 laps)
- Marathon (4 laps)
Feed stations are located on the course, normally around every three miles, and the event operates a cup-less policy so runners should use a reusable cup or bottle. Marshals are positioned along the route and there may be unmarshalled road crossings. Bibs are issued on the day of registration and there is a 6.5 hour cut off for competitors.
All finishers receive a bespoke Solstice medal and post-race refreshments including cake and other items. The races are licensed by the Trail Running Association. Transfers or deferrals can be self-served up to one week before the event. Organisers suggest car sharing as an option for getting to the venue.
