Trail Running Along the Canal
The Breezy in Brighouse & Special Solstice Run takes place in Brighouse, West Yorkshire, with a course situated alongside the Calder & Hebble navigation canal. The route follows the canal towpath, which features greenery and a flat profile. This event is an out and back course, and it is licensed by the Trail Running Association.
Participants can choose from five different distance options:
- 5 km (early morning Solstice run)
- 10 km
- Half marathon
- Marathon
The event includes a 6.5 hour cut-off time, making it accessible for various paces. Water and feed stations are positioned approximately every three miles along the course, offering a variety of food and drinks. This is a cup-less event, so runners are required to bring their own reusable cups or bottles. For safety, large over-ear headphones are not permitted, though bone-conducting or "one in one out" earphones are allowed due to potential unmarshalled road crossings.
Registration takes place on the morning of the event, where participants collect their race bibs. All finishers receive a bespoke Solstice medal and post-race refreshments, including cake. Parking is available in a central Brighouse location for a fee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
