Breeze in the Trees - 5K Run/Walk
Breeze in the Trees is a 5K run and walk held on August 8, 2026, as part of the Pecan Orchard Series hosted by Farmers Investment CO. The event takes place in a pecan orchard during mid summer when the tree foliage is at its fullest, creating a protective canopy. At this stage of the season the pecans are in mid growth.
The series has run for over a decade and allows participants to join one or all events to experience the changing seasons and stages of pecan development. After the long-time event director retired in 2023, Farmers Investment CO took over coordination and hosting for the series. Bundle registration for all three runs offers a $15 discount.
Proceeds from Breeze in the Trees are donated to a local non-profit. Individual runs in the series often attract between 200 and 300 participants and spectators from the surrounding communities, providing community support and local fundraising opportunities.
