Event
The 15th Annual Breeze in the Trees is a 5k run/walk held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, in Sahuarita, Arizona. The host venue is Green Valley Pecan Company, 1625 E. Sahuarita Rd. The event is the second race in the Orchard Series. Entry cost is $40, rising to $45 starting July 1, 2026. The event is USATF sanctioned and will use chip timing. Prizes include gift certificates to a local running shop for Masters and overall finishers in amounts of $100, $60, $50, and $30.
Course and features
The course runs through pecan orchards on dirt private roads between the fields. The event takes place in summer when the trees have a full canopy and pecans are at maximum size. Features for participants include a free 50/50 blend T-shirt for those registered by July 15, a pancake breakfast topped with Green Valley Pecans provided by the Green Valley Firefighters Association, and coffee, water, and snacks. A collectible medal will be given to the first 300 finishers. Awards are given to the top three finishers in age divisions: kids, teens, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s. Beneficiaries include Walden Grove High School Marching Band, Sahuarita 4-H Club, and the Sahuarita Sidewinders youth baseball team. No dogs are allowed on the course.
