Brecon Canal 10
The Brecon Canal 10 is a road and towpath race now in its fifth year. The event is a 10 mile out-and-back course that starts in the market town of Brecon and follows the Brecon and Monmouthshire Canal through the Brecon Beacons National Park. The course is described as relatively flat.
All finishers receive a medal or memento. There is a drink station at approximately five miles. Part of the route uses a towpath and a section runs on road, and use of headphones is not permitted for safety reasons.
Online entries are taken via the organiser's website, with payments made through PayPal. The launch entry price is £20.00. Entries are strictly not accepted on the day.
There are numerous car parking places near the start and finish, and toilet facilities are available nearby. The organiser states that runners take part at their own risk and that the organisers accept no liability for injuries; participants who are unable to run on the day are advised not to run and to consult the event withdrawal policy. For accommodation, there are inns and B&Bs in Brecon and in Talybont on Usk. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
