Event Overview
The Breckland 10k is the signature race of Thetford Athletics Club and is part of the 2026 Sportslink Grand Prix series. The 10 km course takes place on open country roads in and around the village of Croxton, near Thetford. The route features gently undulating country lanes and is marshalled by club members.
Course & Safety
The course is well signed. There is a time limit of 1 hour 30 minutes. A water station is provided around the halfway point and at the finish, and a sponge station is located at the 8 km mark. For safety, runners must follow marshal instructions. The use of headphones is not permitted on the open road, except for bone conduction devices. Runners not complying with safety rules will be disqualified.
Facilities & Logistics
Facilities include a cafe, toilets at the village hall, additional portable toilets, and a designated parking area a two-minute walk from race headquarters. An unattended bag drop is available.
Awards & Entry
All finishers receive a medal. Prizes are awarded to the first three male and female runners, and to the first place in age categories (40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65+). Prize giving is at 12:15 pm. The minimum age for entry is 15 years. Entry fees are £19 for affiliated runners and £21 for unaffiliated runners. Entries are non-refundable and cannot be deferred, but transfers to another runner are available until 25 April 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
