Event Overview
The Brandywine Red Run is a community athletic event held at Bellevue State Park in Wilmington, Delaware. This event supports the Brandywine Valley Hemophilia Foundation (BVHF), a volunteer organization that has served the bleeding disorder community since 1972. The proceeds contribute to medical research, educational programs, summer camps, and patient support services.
Course and Participation
The event is open to both runners and walkers. Participants can take part in the following distance:
- 5 km
The course is located within the grounds of Bellevue State Park at 800 Carr Road. Registered participants who complete their registration by April 17th are guaranteed a short-sleeve race T-shirt.
Recognition and Amenities
The event includes a chip-timed 5k with various categories for awards. Recognition is provided for the following groups:
- Overall Male and Female finishers
- Overall Masters Male and Female finishers
- Top three male and female finishers in age groups ranging from 13 and under to 70 and over
Participants have access to pre- and post-race snacks and breakfast. The event also features sponsor tables with activities and giveaways. Organized teams are encouraged to participate, with opportunities for team-based raffles and grants for top fundraising groups to attend national health conferences.
