About the race
The Bramble Ramble is an annual trail running event held on Montcalm Community College's Sidney campus on the third Saturday in September. The event features two primary distances:
- 5K Trail Run/Walk
- 10K Memorial Run
Races take place on the college's nature trails, which offer more than four miles of marked routes. The course mixes flat, wide trails and narrow wooded hills with stretches of pavement and open fields. Surfaces include grass, dirt, boardwalk, gravel and pavement, and natural obstacles such as roots, rocks and uneven ground. Race routes begin and end at the pavilion near the Greenhouse.
Awards include overall male and female prizes in both the 5K and 10K that consist of artwork by a local artist, age-group awards, and finisher medals and event stickers for all participants. Participants and guests are entered into a drawing for handcrafted wooden furniture; winners must be present. Restrooms are available in the Instruction North Building. Short- and long-sleeve event shirts are offered for purchase during online registration and in limited supply on the day of the event. Parking is available near the Greenhouse.
