Brainerd Turkey Run
The Brainerd Turkey Run takes place on Nov 26, 2026 at the Brainerd Armory in Brainerd, Minnesota. The event offers running and walking distances and raises funds for Shriners Healthcare for Children Twin Cities.
Distances
- 5k timed race, course starts and finishes at the Brainerd Armory
- 1 Mile walk, not timed, loop on nearby streets
- Virtual 5k option with mailed packet after the event
Registration fees vary by age group, distance, and registration date with different prices for youth (18 and under) and adults (19 and over), and options to register with or without a shirt. Early registration through Nov 1 has lower fees, with a later price window through Nov 24. All children 5 and under may participate free and will not receive a shirt. A shirt is guaranteed for those registered by Nov 17.
Logistics note that packet pickup and race registration are available the evening before and the morning of the event at the Brainerd Armory. Pre registered participants may pick up packets for others. New participants must be present to sign a waiver. The 5k route is described as industrial scenic and is stroller friendly. Friendly dogs on leash are allowed if started at the back of the pack and handlers clean up after them.
Results are posted online and can also be accessed at the Armory after finishing. Participants receive a post race email with results and a finisher certificate. Snacks and a photo backdrop are available after the finish. Fundraising pages are offered to registrants and top fundraisers receive recognition at the event.
