Brain Injury Awareness 5K Run and 1 Mile Family Walk
The event is the 11th annual Brain Injury Awareness 5K Run and 1 Mile Family Walk presented by Ohio State's Chronic Brain Injury Program and hosted by the undergraduate organization Buckeyes Raising Awareness in Neuroscience (BRAIN). It is scheduled for March 21, 2027 at the RPAC North Plaza near The Buckeye Bike Hub, 337 Annie and John Glenn Ave, Columbus, OH 43201.

- 5K Run/Walk in-person
- 1 Mile Family Walk untimed in-person
Registration windows and fees are specified for each event. For the 5K, registration opens 9/21/2026 and closes 2/21/2027. For the 1 Mile family walk, registration opens 6/1/2026 and closes 2/21/2027. The registration fee for each event is $30.00.
All proceeds directly benefit brain injury survivors, including support through the NeuroNights program, a joint initiative of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, The Ohio State University Chronic Brain Injury Program, and BRAIN. Last year’s proceeds included a $500 scholarship to a Mark Minister Award recipient, a $500 donation to Nationwide Children's Brain Research, $4,000 to fund a Brain Injury Community Day, and $5,000 to support a Brain Injury Gala in partnership with the Center for Brain Injury Recovery and Discovery (CBIRD).
