Brain Injury Awareness 5K Run and 1 Mile Family Walk

The event is the 10th annual Brain Injury Awareness 5K Run and 1 Mile Family Walk, presented by Ohio State's Chronic Brain Injury Program and hosted by the undergraduate student organization Buckeyes Raising Awareness in Neuroscience (BRAIN). It takes place at the RPAC North Plaza near The Buckeye Bike Hub, 337 Annie and John Glenn Ave, Columbus, OH 43201.

There are two participant options:

  • 5K run
  • 1 mile family walk (untimed)

All proceeds benefit brain injury survivors and support the NeuroNights program, a joint initiative involving The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, the Chronic Brain Injury Program, and BRAIN to provide communal and wellness support. Past distributions of race proceeds included a $500 scholarship, a $500 donation to the Healthy Minds program at the Brain Injury Association of Ohio, and a $4,500 contribution to a Brain Injury Community Day. Organizers have also indicated plans for a Brain Injury Awareness Gala and a Brain Injury Awareness Retreat.

Additional event information includes race day logistics, packet pickup, awards, parking, and course maps. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
