Brading 10km
The Brading 10km takes place on 31 May 2026 as part of the Isle of Wight Festival of Running (31 May to 7 June 2026). The event is based at Smallbrook Stadium, Ryde, PO33 4BH. The race distance is 10 km and it holds SEAA Course Accuracy Certificate Course 23/083 and Race Licence No. 30152.
Entry, rules and prizes
Online entry opens on 5 October 2025 and the closing date for entries is 24 May 2026 at 23:59. Early-bird and standard entry fees are listed, with on-the-day entries possibly available as cash only if the race has not sold out. Entry is limited to 175 runners and the minimum age is 15 years. Numbers and timing chips are issued at race registration. The race is operated under UKA rules; nonconforming runners may be disqualified. Transfers, race changes and withdrawals are available via the entry portal; there are no deferrals. Refund policy: up to 3 months before the event 90%, up to 2 weeks 50%, less than 2 weeks 0%. The official finish time limit is 1 hour 35 minutes (15 min/mile pace).
Prizes are awarded in men’s and women’s overall (1-3), U20 and 10-year veteran categories (1-2), and teams of three (1-3). Overall winners may also win vet prizes. A souvenir is provided to all finishers; uncollected prizes will be posted within seven days.
Course and facilities
The course starts on the Smallbrook speedway track, continues via Ashey Road, Green Lane and Beaper Shute, then returns along Brading Road and Smallbrook Lane to finish in Smallbrook Stadium. Marker boards are placed at each kilometre and a water station is located at approximately 5 km. The course is not suitable for wheelchairs. Changing and shower facilities are available at the venue, with limited free parking and refreshments from the bar. Smallbrook Stadium is about 3 km (1.8 miles) from Ryde Esplanade; the most direct walking route is Union Street, High Street, Swanmore Road, Ashey Road to the stadium. Safety rules prohibit in-ear or over-ear headphones (bone-conducting headphones allowed) and running with dogs.
