Bracknell Samaritans Run
The Bracknell Samaritans Run returns for its 44th year at Kings Academy Easthampstead Park. This community event is organized by the Bracknell, Wokingham, Ascot & District Samaritans Branch to raise funds for their local volunteer-led services. The event offers three different distances to accommodate various age groups:
- 10 km adult race
- 5 km race for adults and participants aged 11 and over
- Teddy Bear Kids Run for children typically between 3 and 10 years old
The course consists of an accurately measured 5 km loop that begins and ends on a grassed sports field. Participants in the 10 km event complete this loop twice. The route is primarily flat and open, passing through Peacock Meadows. It includes an incline between the 2 km and 7 km marks as the path leads through Jennetts Park and the lightly wooded Tarman’s Copse. The terrain is composed of grass, gravel paths, and sections of pavement.
The Teddy Bear Kids Run consists of two loops of the grassed sports field. While the 5 km and 10 km courses are not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs, pushchairs are permitted for the children's event. The main race is limited to 600 entries, and participants can register online until the day before the event or on the day if space remains. Free on-site parking is available at the venue.
