Bracknell Samaritans Run at Kings Academy Easthampstead Park, Bracknell
The event offers a 5K, a 10K and a Teddy Bear Kids Run organised by the Bracknell, Wokingham, Ascot & District Samaritans branch. Profits from the event directly benefit the local Samaritans branch, which is volunteer run and self-funded.
The 5K is an accurately measured loop that starts and finishes on the grassed sports field; the 10K consists of two laps of the same loop. The route is mostly flat and open, runs into Peacock Meadows, includes an incline around the 2 km and 7 km points, passes through Jennetts Park and a lightly wooded area known as Tarman’s Copse. Terrain includes grass and gravel paths with some pavement sections. The course offers good spectator viewing for most of the route.
Entry options and fees cover adult and under 16 categories, plus a children’s entry for the Teddy Bear Run. There is an overall limit of 600 entries. The 5K has a minimum age of 11; the 10K requires entrants to be 16 or over on race day. The Teddy Bear Kids Run is aimed at children around 3 to 10 years old, children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult who will not be charged. The 5K and 10K courses are not suitable for wheelchair users; pushchairs are not permitted in those races but are permitted for the Teddy Bear Kids Run.
