Bracknell Samaritans Run : 20 June 2026, Bracknell
The 44th Bracknell Samaritans Run is organised by the Bracknell, Wokingham, Ascot & District Samaritans branch at Kings Academy Easthampstead Park (Easthampstead Park Community School), Ringmead, Bracknell RG12 8FS. All profits from the event benefit the local Samaritans branch. The branch is volunteer run, has over 120 local volunteers, speaks to more than 18,500 callers annually, and requires around £25,000 each year to operate. Free on-site parking is available.
Races and entry
- 10K - two laps of the measured 5K loop
- 5K - one lap of the measured 5K loop
- Teddy Bear Kids Run - two loops of the grassed sports field, medal awarded, no chip timing
Entry details in the source list the following fees: 5K (U16) £13 early / £16 standard; 5K (adult) £23 early / £26 standard; 10K (adult) £25 early / £28 standard; Teddy Bear Run £5 (on-the-day £6). There is a limit of 600 entries. Club members who officially promote the event can receive a 10% discount (from 01/02/2026). On-the-day entries incur an additional £3 (subject to availability). Payment by cash or card is accepted.
Course and participant rules
The course is an accurately measured 5K loop starting and finishing on the grassed sports field; the 10K is two laps. The route is mainly flat and open, with an incline at the 2/7 km point that passes through Jennetts Park into a lightly wooded area called Tarman’s Copse. Terrain includes grass and gravel paths with some pavement. Spectator viewing is good for most of the route. The 5K and 10K courses are not suitable for wheelchair users and do not accommodate pushchairs. The Teddy Bear Kids Run permits pushchairs; children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult who is not charged. Minimum ages: 5K - 11; 10K - 16.
