Bracknell Samaritans Run - 20 June 2026
The 44th Bracknell Samaritans Run takes place at Kings Academy Easthampstead Park (Easthampstead Park Community School), Ringmead, Bracknell RG12 8FS. The event offers measured running options and a dedicated children's race, and proceeds directly benefit the local Bracknell, Wokingham, Ascot & District Samaritans branch.
Distances
- 5K - minimum age 11
- 10K - minimum age 16 on race day
- Teddy Bear Kids Run - suited to ages 3 to 10
The 5K uses an accurately measured loop on the grassed sports field; the 10K is two laps of the same course. The route is mainly flat and open, passing Peacock Meadows, an incline near 2/7 km through Jennetts Park, and a lightly wooded section called Tarman’s Copse. Surfaces include grass, gravel paths and short sections of pavement. The course provides good spectator viewing and is generally wide.
The Teddy Bear Kids Run is two laps of the grassed field, without chip timing; participating children receive a bib and a finish medal. Pushchairs are not permitted on the 5K and 10K; they are permitted on the Teddy Bear Kids Run. The race has a limit of 600 entries.
The Bracknell Samaritans branch is volunteer run and self-funded. The branch reports it costs around £25,000 each year to operate, regularly speaks to over 18,500 callers annually, and has over 120 local volunteers. All profits from the event support the local branch. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
