About the race
Boxing Day Challenge 2026 is a six hour timed running event held on Saturday 26 December 2026 at Wraysbury Skiff and Punting Club, Riverside, Egham TW20 0AA. The course is an out-and-back route of 3.28 miles along the River Thames with an earlier turn point available for a 5 km option. A 10 km run is completed by doing the 5 km lap twice.
The event permits participants to run any distance from 5 km up to ultra distances within the six hour time limit, provided laps are started before the time limit ends. Participants receive a bespoke medal and a goody bag after finishing. Toilets and changing facilities are available at the rowing club. Baggage may be left next to the start/finish line but the area is unmanned and items are left at participants own risk.
Parking is available on site at Runnymede Pleasure Grounds and is payable. An aid table is provided at the end of each lap offering water, squash, fizzy drinks and a variety of food. The route uses a public footpath and participants should be considerate to other path users. Additional event details include a maximum of 100 entrants, a minimum age of 12 years, and entries close on 25 December 2026.
