Event overview

The Boxing Day Challenge is organised by CIRCUIT RUNNING EVENTS LIMITED and takes place on 26 December 2025 at Wraysbury Skiff and Punting Club, Riverside, Egham TW20 0AA. It is a six-hour timed event described as flat and multi-terrain. The event has a maximum of 100 entrants and a minimum entry age of 12 years. Entries close on 25 December 2025. The event is licensed by the TRA and run under UKA Athletics rules.

Course, distances and facilities

The course is an out-and-back route of about 3.28 miles along the River Thames. A shorter turn point creates a 5 km option; a 10 km is two of the 5 km laps. The event permits distances from 5 km up to ultramarathon distance within the six-hour limit. Participants are asked to be considerate to other path users because the route uses a public footpath.

Facilities and services listed for the event include:

  • Toilets and changing facilities at the rowing club.
  • Unmanned baggage storage beside the start/finish area (items left at participants’ risk).
  • On-site parking at Runnymede Pleasure Grounds (paid).
  • An aid table at the end of each lap with water, squash, fizzy drinks and a variety of food.
  • Finishers receive a bespoke medal and a goody bag.
