Event Overview
The Boxing Day Challenge is a running event held on a public footpath along the River Thames. It offers a 6 hour timed challenge, during which participants can complete multiple laps to achieve distances from 5k up to an ultra marathon. Participants can start a final lap up until 5 hours and 59 minutes into the event.
Course and Format
The route is an out-and-back course measuring 3.28 miles. Runners aiming for a 5k use an earlier turn point, while a 10k is completed by running the 5k lap twice. The event is licensed by the TRA and run under UK Athletics rules, with maximum permitted distances varying by participant age.
