Event summary
The Boxing Day Challenge is organised by CIRCUIT RUNNING EVENTS LIMITED at Wraysbury Skiff and Punting Club, Riverside, Egham TW20 0AA. It is a timed endurance event offered as a six-hour challenge with multiple race options. The event is licensed by the TRA and run under UKA Athletics rules. Maximum entries are 100 and entries close on 25 December 2025. Entry fees range approximately from £18 to £35 depending on the chosen distance.
Course and format
The main loop is an out-and-back 3.28-mile route along the River Thames. A 5 km option uses an earlier turn point on the same route; a 10 km option consists of two 5 km laps. In the six-hour timed event, participants may complete multiple laps within the time limit.
Facilities and rules
Toilets and changing facilities are available at the rowing club. There is no official manned bag drop; bags may be left next to the start/finish at participants' own risk. Parking is available on site at Runnymede Pleasure Grounds for a fee. An aid table is provided at the end of each lap offering water, squash, fizzy drinks and a variety of food. The event takes place on a public footpath; participants are asked to be considerate to other path users.
