Box Hill Vertical KM
Box Hill Vertical KM is a guided trail run focused on steep climbs around Box Hill near Dorking, United Kingdom. The route is designed to accumulate over 1000 metres of elevation in a short distance and avoids structured hill repetitions. Participants follow trails that are often off the beaten track through woodland, heathland and open fields. Some sections are technical and may require scrambling to reach summits.
The event is organised as a group run rather than a race, with a steady collective pace and pauses at the top of climbs if needed. Participants should be able to maintain an average pace of about 10 minutes per mile or 6 minutes per kilometre on trail for prolonged periods and have a suitable level of fitness.
A full kit list is provided to attendees. Salomon Sense Ride and Speedcross trail shoes are available to test; sizes should be indicated during registration if interested. Parking is available near the start and further logistical details are supplied before the run.
Running Adventures has arranged an alcohol free beer from Days Brewing Company for participants at the end of the run, subject to availability. If the run is cancelled by the organiser due to COVID 19, attendees are offered a choice of a refund or transfer to a later event. Tickets for this event are currently sold out.
