35th Annual Boxford July 4th Road Race

The Boxford July 4th Road Race is a multi-distance athletic event held in historic East Boxford Village. This event features several course options to accommodate participants of different ages and abilities. The race is organized to support local causes, with proceeds benefiting the Jennifer Tinney Scholarship Fund at Masconomet High School and the BAA Road Race Scholarship for a Boxford Senior.

The event offers the following distances:

  • 5 Miles
  • 2.5 Miles
  • 1 Mile
  • 2.5-Mile Wheelchair
  • 1-Mile Wheelchair

The 2.5-mile course includes one water stop, while the 5-mile course features two water stops. The 1-mile course does not have a water station. Race times are recorded and made available by age group following the conclusion of the runs. Participants who register early are prioritized for amenities, as event shirts are guaranteed only for the first 350 registrations.

Awards are presented to the overall fastest male and female runners in the 5-mile, 2.5-mile, and Youth 1-mile categories. Additionally, medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each age group. All participants in the Youth 1-mile race receive finisher ribbons. The event takes place alongside community festivities, including the Boxford 4th of July parade and activities at the East Boxford Fire Station.
