Boxer 500
The Boxer 500 is a community run and walk presented by the Great Plains Colon Cancer Task Force. The event on August 30, 2026 is offered in-person at Werner Park in Omaha, Nebraska and as a virtual event the weekend of August 29-30, 2026. The virtual option allows participants to choose a day and distance and to include family members, pets, or strollers.
Event distances include:
- 5K run/walk
- 1 mile walk
- 1K Kids Run
- Kids Dash
Live event registrations include a Boxer 500 T-shirt, unique survivor T-shirts, finisher medals, a pancake feed, and a kids zone. T-shirts are only guaranteed for participants registered by August 13, 2026. Same-day registrations will not be timed. Survivors can register free using the code SURVIVOR.
Packet pickup is available the day before at Peak Performance in Omaha and on race morning at Werner Park. The in-person event features activities such as a survivor photo near Rolanda the Inflatable Colon, kids races, and an awards ceremony.
Proceeds remain in Omaha to support the task force mission of increasing lives saved from colon cancer through education, early detection, and prevention. Each March the task force, working with Methodist Health System and Nebraska Medicine, distributes 600 to 800 free at-home screening kits to the Omaha community.
