Boxer 500
The Boxer 500 is an in-person and virtual run/walk event held on August 30, 2026. The in-person event takes place at Werner Park in Omaha, Nebraska. The virtual event is scheduled for the weekend of August 29-30, 2026 and allows participants to choose their own course.
Distances offered include:
- 5K run/walk
- 1 mile walk
- 1K Kids Run
- Kids Dash
Same-day registrations will not be timed. Live and virtual registrations include a Boxer 500 T-shirt, unique survivor T-shirts, and finisher medals. The event also lists a pancake feed and a kids zone for the live event. T-shirts are only guaranteed to participants registered by August 13, 2026. Free colon cancer survivor registrations are available using the code SURVIVOR.
Packet pickup is available at Peak Performance on Saturday, August 29, and at Werner Park on Sunday, August 30 for those unable to pick up earlier. The event includes recognition of survivors and remembrance of those who died from colon cancer.
Proceeds from the Boxer 500 remain in Omaha and support the Great Plains Colon Cancer Task Force mission of increasing lives saved through education, early detection, and prevention. The task force distributes 600 to 800 free at-home colon cancer screening kits each March in collaboration with local health partners.
