Great Plains Colon Cancer Task Force Boxer 500
The Boxer 500 is a community run and walk organized by the Great Plains Colon Cancer Task Force on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at Werner Park in Papillion, Nebraska. The event raises awareness about colorectal cancer, celebrates survivors, and remembers those who have died from the disease. The Task Force was formed in 1999 to increase public awareness and promote early detection and prevention.
Event formats include:
- In-Person 5K (timed)
- 1 Mile Walk (untimed)
- Kids Dash (untimed)
- Kids Fun Run 1K (untimed)
- Virtual 5K with T-shirt and finisher medal shipping
Live event registrations include a Boxer 500 T-shirt, unique survivor T-shirts, finisher medals, a pancake feed, and a kids zone. T-shirt sizes are guaranteed for registrations received by August 13, 2026. Packet pickup is available at Peak Performance, 519 N. 78th St., Omaha, NE on Saturday, August 29 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, and at Werner Park on Sunday, August 30 from 7:00 am to 8:30 am.
Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in age groups 18 and under; 19 to 29; 30 - 39; 40 - 49; 50 - 59; 60 - 69; and 70 and older. Additional awards include Best Boxers Team and Best Boxers Individual. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
