Box Hill Vertical KM
This is a guided trail run based at Stepping Stones Car Park, Box Hill, Dorking, Surrey, offered on specific dates in December 2026, May 2027 and December 2027. The route covers 12.5 miles and accumulates approximately 1000 m of elevation over a relatively short distance; it is designed to gain ascent rather than repeat the same hill multiple times.
Participants will move through woodland, heathland and open fields. Some climbs are technical and require scrambling on hands and knees to reach summits. The guide leads the group at a steady, non-competitive pace, often hiking steeper sections and regrouping regularly. Participants should be comfortable maintaining an average trail pace of about 10 min per mile (6:15 min per km) for prolonged periods to enjoy the session. Faster runners can expect some sections to be easier and more social.
Practical details: parking is available at the meeting location and the site is a short run or taxi ride from a train station. A full kit list and further event information are provided to registrants before the run. The cost is £29 per person. At the end of the run participants may receive an alcohol-free beer from Athletic Brewing Company, subject to availability. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
