13th Annual bow-WOW-walk
The bow-WOW-walk is a community event held at the Boar's Head Resort in Charlottesville, Virginia. This dog-friendly gathering supports the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA and its work with animal shelter care and medical treatment. The event takes place rain or shine.
The program includes several outdoor activities for different age groups and interests:
- 5K Trail Run: A competitive trail run.
- Dog Walk: A stroll for participants and their dogs.
- Junior Dog Walk: A walking event for participants aged 17 and under.
- Kids' Dash!: A short race for children aged 8 and under.
- Cat Napper: A non-walking participation option.
Beyond the physical events, the morning features a variety of activities including dog contests, raffles, and face painting. Local vendors and food trucks are present on-site. Participants have the option to engage in peer-to-peer fundraising to support the SPCA's mission, with prizes provided by local businesses.
