Bovingdon 10K Race and Fun Run
The Bovingdon 10K Race and Fun Run is organised by Bovingdon Football Club and Gade Valley Harriers and takes place in late August at Bovingdon Football Club, Green Lane, Bovingdon, Hemel Hempstead. The main event is a certified, officially measured 10 km road race on quiet country lanes through the Hertfordshire countryside. The course is chip timed and holds an England Athletics event licence.
There is a limit of 300 runner places for the 10 km. Road shoes are recommended. The course will feed into Power of 10 statistics for EA registered athletes. Two water stations are provided on the route and portaloos are available at the venue.
A separate Fun Run of about a mile is run around the football pitches. Juniors may take part in the Fun Run; entrants must be at least 18 years old on race day to run the 10 km. Entry fees for the 10 km include a chipped number and a medal; a medal is also provided for the Fun Run.
Facilities and event rules include a bag drop area at owners risk, on site parking at the club, restriction on leaving the car park while the race is underway, no dogs, no buggies or pushchairs, and no headphones in line with UK Athletics rules. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers and to first place in age categories. Event income covers organisation costs and any surplus supports the club's chosen charity.
