Vitality Bournemouth Bay Run 2027
The Vitality Bournemouth Bay Run takes place on 21 March 2027 along Bournemouth's seven mile stretch of sand. The event offers a range of distances, with chip timing provided for the main road races, and route maps available for most distances.
- Half Marathon, chip timed, minimum age 17, part of the Dorset Road Race League.
- 10K, chip timed, minimum age 15.
- 5K, chip timed, minimum age 11.
- 2.5K Junior Fun Run, recommended for age 9 and above.
- 1K Kids Fun Run, no minimum age.
Some races start at Pier Approach and others start west of Bournemouth Pier. Entry fees apply and differ by race and entry period. Route maps are provided for the Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and 1K, with the 2.5K map noted as coming soon.
The event lists Vitality as title sponsor, with charity partners including Forest Holme Hospice and HealthBus Trust, the latter running a TEAM44 campaign connected to the event. Hot Radio is named as the official radio sponsor.
The organisers state an environmental aim to reduce single use plastics by using boxed water and paper cups at water stations, canned water at the finish, recycling drop nets, and other measures such as unbagged t shirts, grouped medal packaging, an online goody bag, and encouragement to use public or shared transport.
