Bound for the Sound
Bound for the Sound is a road race series held in Old Lyme, Connecticut. The event offers three different distances along the scenic Long Island Sound coastline, starting at Sound View Beach. Both the 5K and 10K courses finish on historic Hartford Avenue, directly facing the beach.
The 10K course is USATF certified and serves as the USATF-CT 10K State Championship. This race concludes the USATF-CT Road Grand Prix series and features a mostly flat profile with some gently rolling hills. The 5K course is noted for being very flat and fast. A shorter option is also available for families.

Participants in the 5K & 10K receive chip timing with instant results and a race t-shirt. Registration is conducted online, and participants may register up until the day of the race. Walkers are welcome to participate in the events, provided they register and start behind the runners.
Free parking is available at designated town-owned lots, including locations at Hartford Avenue, Shore Road, and Cross Lane. Hydration stations are situated along the course and at the finish line. Following the run, entry includes access to food and drinks. All proceeds from the event are donated to the Old Lyme Fire Department Auxiliary.
