Bound for the Sound is a road race held in Old Lyme, Connecticut on September 19, 2026. The event offers multiple distances and starts at Sound View Beach, with finishes down historic Hartford Avenue facing the beach.

1 Mile Family Fun Run

The 10K course is mostly flat with some gently rolling hills. The 5K is very flat. Both the 5K and 10K are chip timed with instant results. Walkers are welcome but must register and start behind runners. Course routing follows shoreline roads and offers views along Long Island Sound.

Entry details include a race t-shirt and chip timing for 5K and 10K participants; the family fun run includes a finisher prize and a t-shirt can be added for an additional fee. Registration is online only and open up to and including race day. Free parking is provided in designated town lots, with volunteers assisting parking; large vehicles and RVs are directed to the Cross Lane lot.

Awards are given to top overall and age-group finishers in the 5K and 10K, plus recognition for the top non-binary finisher. Hydration stations are on course and post-race food and drink are included in race entry. Proceeds are donated to the Old Lyme Fire Department Auxiliary.
