Bound for Boston Marathon & Half Marathon - Seattle
This event is a small, focused running competition held on and around Olympia High School. The course is a one mile flat loop used repeatedly for both the half marathon and the full marathon. The full marathon is USATF certified and serves as a Boston qualifier.
Support on course includes water and an electrolyte drink at the aid table, and participants may place personalized aid on the tables to retrieve each lap. The event uses chip timing for start and finish and records chip timed splits every mile. Mile splits are displayed on timing clocks at the mile points to help runners maintain pace.
Entertainment and music will be provided along the loop. All participants receive a race shirt and a finisher medal. Awards are given for both distances in standard five year age groups. The field is intentionally limited, with a total cap of 75 participants to keep the event small. The organizers note standard course guidance such as running tangents and keeping right to allow faster participants to pass.
A virtual race option is available for those who cannot attend in person, with online submission of virtual times and separate registration choices. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
