This event runs a mostly indoor 5 km course through Calgary's +15 downtown walkway network, starting from an address at 324 8 Ave SW, Calgary, AB T2P 2Z2. The route keeps participants sheltered from the weather and navigates corridors and stairs within the pedestrian network.

Timing is provided by a professional timing company and results are published by age group. Starts are organized in waves and the event enforces cut-offs and split times at points along the course. For safety, mechanical escalators are not permitted and participants must not skip steps; stairs must be climbed and descended one step at a time. Strollers are not allowed due to the course layout.
A locker room is available; belongings must be placed in a large bag and labeled with a bib number sticker. A personalized bib requires registration at least 10 days before the event. All finishers receive a standard finish medal and a personalized medal can be purchased during online registration.
