131st Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America
The Boston Marathon is organized by the Boston Athletic Association as the 131st edition presented by Bank of America. The event will include an accepted field of qualifiers following a registration period that produced 33,656 qualifier applications for the 2027 race.
The race will host 30,000 participants on Patriots' Day and is supported by more than 10,000 volunteers. The event program includes an official charity program with 215 participating organizations for 2027 and a cumulative fundraising total of $57.3 million through the Bank of America Official Charity Program.
The B.A.A. maintains partnerships that support event services and media, including an extended partnership with MarathonFoto announced through 2033. The race program also features divisions and information for para and adaptive athletes, a professional field of athletes at the front of the race, and resources for spectators and volunteers.
Communications and event administration are handled by the Boston Athletic Association, which provides athlete information, qualifiers guidance, media relations, and volunteer assignment details.
