Boston Marathon
The 131st Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America is organized by the Boston Athletic Association and takes place on Patriots' Day. The event hosts 30,000 athletes from around the world and is supported by more than 10,000 volunteers.
Qualifier registration for the 2027 Boston Marathon is scheduled for September 14–18, 2026 within Athletes' Village. The B.A.A. lists information and dedicated resources for athletes, para and adaptive athletes, spectators, volunteers, and professional athletes. Official partners named for the event include Bank of America, adidas, and Schneider.
The B.A.A. manages related race events and community programs such as a 5K, a 10K, a half marathon, youth mile events, and distance medley competitions. The Official Charity Program raised a record $57.3 million for nonprofits in 2026, with funds benefiting many organizations.
