Boston Marathon
The 130th Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America is scheduled for Patriots' Day, Monday, April 20, 2026. The event fields approximately 30,000 athletes who run the traditional course from Hopkinton to Boston. The race includes professional athletes as well as para and adaptive divisions.
Organizers used a six wave start format in 2026. The event is supported by more than 10,000 volunteers and several partners including Bank of America, adidas, and Schneider. The Bank of America Official Charity Program has raised funds tied to the race, with a reported total of $50.4 million.
