Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America
The Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America is an annual marathon staging its 130th running. The event draws about 30,000 athletes who race on Patriots' Day along the course that runs from Hopkinton to Boston.
The event program includes a pro field of international athletes and divisions for para and adaptive athletes with defined eligibility and classifications. The marathon is supported by nearly 10,000 volunteers and a network of partners that includes Bank of America, adidas, and Schneider. Through the Bank of America Official Charity Program the event has raised more than $50 million for nonprofit organizations.
Organizers publish participant and spectator guides and provide specific information for athletes, volunteers, media, and pro competitors. The B.A.A. also operates related programs such as a medical research funding program and a Climate Crew. Results, historical records, and summaries of recent editions are maintained for reference.
