Borrowdale Trail Half Marathon
The Borrowdale Trail Half Marathon is a trail race held on the shores of Derwentwater and on the surrounding fells near Keswick, Cumbria. The course covers 21 km as a single lap on marked trails; no navigation is required. The route is described as hilly and is run under Trail Running Association licensing with a licence number pending, and under UK Athletics rules.
Entries are limited to 200 places. Entry fees listed are £32 for affiliated runners and £34 for unaffiliated runners; if the event does not sell out, on the day entry may be available for an additional £3. Competitors must be at least 17 years old on race day. The organiser is Fellside Events Ltd.
Facilities at the race headquarters, Crow Park on Lake Road in Keswick, include water, toilets and baggage storage. There are no distance markers, no changing facilities and no showers. A coffee van will be on site selling hot and cold drinks, cakes and ice cream. Every competitor receives a bespoke medal and event photographs will be available to download. Prizes are awarded to the first three finishers in the male and female categories and to the first finisher in each age group.
