Borrowdale Trail Half Marathon
The Borrowdale Trail Half Marathon is a 21 kilometre trail race on the shores of Derwentwater and the surrounding fells near Keswick, Cumbria. The course is marked and follows a single lap on hilly terrain; it is not suitable for wheelchairs. Registration and the finish are at Crow Park, Lake Road, Keswick, with the start at Lingholm.
Entry is limited to 200 runners. Entrants must be aged 17 or older on race day. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules; the race licence number is pending.
Facilities at the race headquarters include water, toilets and baggage storage. There are no distance markers, no changing facilities and no showers. A coffee van will be on site selling hot and cold drinks, cakes and ice creams. Every competitor receives a bespoke medal and event photographs will be available to download. Prizes are awarded to the first three male and first three female finishers and to first place in each age group.
Entry fees are quoted as £32 for affiliated runners and £34 for unaffiliated runners; prices include race fees, card charges and administration. If the event does not sell out, entry on the day is available for an additional £3.00. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
