Border Bolt Running Festival
The Border Bolt Running Festival takes place in Currumbin at 164 Duringan Street on August 2, 2026. The event uses the Border Trails with sections that offer ocean views and a mix of pavement, trail and hills on an out-and-back course.
There are four distance options:
- 6.6 km all on pavement
- 13.5 km with a small amount of trail
- 22 km with substantial trail sections
- 31 km including the section known as Strawberry Hill
Longer distances include increasing trail terrain and more elevation. The event is listed as Race 2 in the Trail Trips Triple Crown series. The Triple Crown series also includes the Wild Earth In the Raw on May 31, 2026 and the Wild Earth Coastal High on August 29, 2026. Completing all three races earns a Trail Trips backpack valued at over $100.
The Border Bolt is offered as part of two series options. The Short Course series pairs the 22 km Border Bolt with the 15 km In the Raw and the 28 km Coastal High Crunch. The Long Course series requires the 31 km Border Bolt, the 25 km In the Raw and the Coastal High 50.
