Boots and Brews 5K
The Boots and Brews 5K is an annual community event held in downtown Freeport, Maine. The event celebrates the local heritage of craftsmanship and its history as a center for shoe and boot manufacturing. The course for the primary race starts and ends on Depot Street, taking participants through the historic town center.
The event features several participation options:
- 5 km race
- Fun Run (open to ages 12 and under)
- Non-Runner BBQ tickets
The 5K race is a central part of the festivities, while the Fun Run is specifically designed for younger participants. Those who do not wish to run can purchase separate tickets for the barbecue. Participants in the 5K receive access to a digital swag bag containing discounts for local businesses and are entered into a bib-draw for various prizes.
After the run, the event includes a gathering where attendees can sample beverages from local Maine breweries, including Maine Beer Company, Mast Landing Brewing, Goodfire Brewing, and Brickyard Hollow. The venue is located at 23 Depot St., which is accessible by car with free public parking available throughout downtown Freeport. Additionally, the Amtrak Downeaster stops directly at the event's start line. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
