BookSmiles 5K & 1 Mile Walk for Literacy
The event supports BookSmiles, a nonprofit that collects and distributes books to underserved children and teachers in the South Jersey / Philadelphia area. It takes place on October 11, 2026 at Cooper River Park, with check‑in at 510 Park Blvd, Cherry Hill, NJ, and a finish at the Cooper River track.

The 5K is a certified, flat and fast, chip timed course along Cooper River in Camden County. The event offers HD finish line video and near‑instant text messaging of finish results. A race T‑shirt is included in the registration fee; T‑shirts are not guaranteed for registrations after September 20. An optional early packet pickup on Friday, October 9 will be announced later.
Awards include cash prizes for the top three overall male and female finishers ($150, $100, $50) and prizes for the top three finishers in each age group. Both runners and walkers may use the course; participants may choose to walk or run. Parking is available along Cooper River and in nearby lots by the track and the start.
