Boo! On Broad
The event is the fifth annual running of Boo! On Broad, taking place on Saturday, October 31. It includes a 1K Fun Run and a 5K Run/Walk. Prizes are given for the best costumes, and participants are encouraged to dress up. The event benefits the SES and Bear Creek Middle School Running Clubs, with proceeds going towards running clothes, apparel, and track and field equipment for the students.
Packet pickup and registration are available on Friday, October 30 from 4pm to 6pm in front of the Statham Elementary School Gymnasium. On race day, packet pickup and registration open at 7:00 AM at Statham Elementary School.
The 1K Fun Run starts at 8:00 AM. The 5K Run/Walk starts at 8:30 AM. Both races start on Broad Street and finish in front of the Statham Elementary School Gym.
The 5K course is a USATF Certified Course (GA 19038DJ) and is an AJC Peachtree Road Race Qualifying Event.
Awards are given to Overall Male/Female, Masters Male/Female, and in standard 5-year age groups from 10 and Under to 80 and Over. Special awards are given for the best costume, with two runners selected. All participants in the Fun Run who are ages 10 and under receive a participation medal.
The event is part of the Black Bag Race Series and the Run and See Georgia Grand Prix. Timing is provided by Classic Race Services. The event has a no-refund policy for inclement weather. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
