About the race
Boo-K It! 5k is presented by the Corbit-Calloway Memorial Library in Odessa, Delaware, and is billed as the 1st Annual Costume Run/Walk 5K with a Family 1 Mile walk. The event supports the library by raising funds for free public programs for children, teens, and adults, as well as for building maintenance, operations, and book acquisitions.
Participants may choose from the following distances:
- 5K run/walk, costume encouraged
- Competitive Walking 5K for walkers only, no running or jogging
- 1 Mile non-competitive family walk
All registration is online except for those paying by cash or check; online registration remains open until race morning. Parking is available on Main Street and on High Street from the corner of 3rd Street and forward. Participants are asked to meet at 115 High Street for the run.
Timing is provided by R2R Timing using the MYLAPS BibTag timing system. Results will be posted online during and after the event. Awards include top overall and masters finishers (scored by gun time), age-group awards scored by chip time, top walkers, and a Best Team Costume award. Policies note that bibs are non-transferable, there are no registration refunds, and no dogs are allowed on course due to insurance liability. Photos and final results will be posted after the event.
