Boo-k It 5k - Odessa
The Boo-k It 5k is a community running and walking event held at the Corbit-Calloway Public Library in Odessa, Delaware. Proceeds support the library’s programs for children, teens, and adults, as well as events, building maintenance, and book acquisitions. The library is described as Delaware’s first free public library and operates as an independent nonprofit and contractual library within the New Castle County Library System.
Registration options include:
- 5K run/walk
- Competitive Walking 5K for walkers only
- 1 Mile non-competitive walk
Registration is primarily online except for cash or check payments, and published prices include processing fees; a day-of registration price is listed and a reduced fee applies for children 8 and under. Timing is by chip using the MYLAPS BibTag system provided by R2R Timing, and results are posted online during and after the event.
Event policies note there are no refunds, bibs are non-transferable, and dogs are not allowed on the course due to insurance liability. Awards are given by overall and masters categories using gun time for top finishers, with age-group awards scored by chip (net) time; awards also recognize top competitive walkers and top finishers in 10-year age groups.
