Boo-K It! 5k
The Boo-K It! 5k is a themed community run and walk held in Odessa, Delaware to benefit the Corbit-Calloway Memorial Library. The event supports the library’s free programs for children, teens, and adults, and helps fund building maintenance, operations, and book acquisitions. It is presented by the Corbit-Calloway Memorial Library and takes place on October 24, 2026, at the Corbit-Calloway Public Library on High Street in Odessa.
Distances included:
- 5K run/walk
- Competitive Walking 5K for competitive walkers only
- 1 Mile non-competitive family walk
The event encourages participants to wear costumes; a Best Team Costume award is given. Timing for the 5K uses chip timing with the MYLAPS BibTag system. Awards are given to top overall male and female finishers, top overall masters, top age-group finishers in ten-year divisions from 13 and under through 80 and over, and top competitive walkers. Results and photos will be posted online after the event.
Registration is handled online except for cash or check payments. Policies note that bibs are non-transferable and there are no refunds. Dogs are not allowed on the course due to insurance liability. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
