Event overview
Boney Mountain Trail Run is a trail race held in the Santa Monica Mountains on February 7, 2026. The event center is at Rancho Sierra Vista / Satwiwa National Park, 4121 Potrero Rd, Newbury Park, CA. The courses run through Point Mugu State Park and Sycamore Canyon and include creek crossings, single-track climbs, and ocean views beneath Boney Mountain's boulderous peaks. The event is part of the SoCalTrail "Trail ½ Series."
Race details
- Half marathon - backcountry course with multiple creek crossings and climbs.
- 7k - short course inside Sycamore Canyon with several creek crossings.
Aid stations are located along the course at multiple mile markers and are stocked with Skratch Labs hydration. Finishers receive a medal and a race tee with same-day results. An age group and overall awards ceremony takes place at the post-race festival. The festival also offers complimentary breakfast tacos and exhibitor samples, post-race sports massages provided by Vision For Enrichment, and free race day photos to participants.
