Bold Blitzen 5K
The Bold Blitzen 5K is a holiday-themed road event held at Bold Rock Cidery in Nellysford, Virginia on December 5, 2026. The course is an out-and-back, mostly pavement route with some gravel, described as flat and offering scenic country views. Walkers, all-terrain strollers and dogs are welcome.
Race services include professional chip timing, a short sleeve performance event tee (unisex and ladies cut), and a commemorative finisher glass. Participants over 21 receive a pint of Bold Rock Hard Cider; children and those under 21 receive a complimentary glass of non-alcoholic sparkling cider. A beverage ticket on the race bib is used to claim the drink, and participants must show proper ID to receive alcoholic beverages.
The event features a post-race party and awards ceremony. Awards are given to overall male and female finishers and to first place finishers in defined age groups. Age group categories are listed for under 21 and over 21 participants. Registered participants over 21 who win receive a six-pack of Bold Rock Hard Cider; under 21 winners receive a bottle of sparkling apple juice. Winners must be present at the awards ceremony to receive prizes.
Teams are allowed and prizes are offered for the biggest team and best team costumes. A portion of proceeds benefits the Nelson County Pantry. Registration prices change by date; there are no refunds, but runner transfers are permitted with advance request.
