Bold Blitzen 5K
The Bold Blitzen 5K is a holiday-themed 5-kilometer event at Bold Rock Cidery in Nellysford, Virginia. The course is an out-and-back route that is easy and flat, mostly on pavement with some gravel, and offers scenic country views. The event is walker, stroller and dog friendly.
Participants receive a short sleeve performance event tee, professional chip timing, a commemorative finisher glass and a pint of Bold Rock Hard Cider for those over 21. A complimentary glass of nonalcoholic sparkling cider is provided for children and adults under 21. Proper ID is required to receive alcoholic beverages.
Teams are supported and prizes are awarded for the biggest team and best team costumes. Awards are also given to overall male and female finishers and to first place finishers in specified age groups. Prizes for age group winners include a 6-pack of Bold Rock Hard Cider for participants over 21 and a bottle of sparkling apple juice for under 21 winners.
Registration fees vary by date, with early, standard and race day rates. Participants registered by November 23 are guaranteed an event shirt. There are no refunds; runner transfers are allowed with advance notice. A portion of proceeds benefits the Nelson County Pantry.
