Mountain Masochist Trail Run : Montebello, VA, November 7, 2026
The Mountain Masochist Trail Run takes place in Montebello, Virginia and offers multiple trail distances. The course begins and ends at Montebello Campground and follows the historical MMTR routing run in reverse toward the Mount Pleasant Loop, using a mix of old and new trails.

The route moves south through the National Forest on dirt and gravel roads and includes more mountain terrain and single track than in previous years. Near Mount Pleasant the course follows the Old Hotel Trail and old jeep roads toward Long Mountain Wayside. After Long Mountain, the second half uses dirt and old logging roads plus several miles of single track. The last aid station is at Porters Ridge, then the course drops downhill for about 3.5 miles to Rt 56 and back to Montebello Campground. The full course travels through areas of the Blue Ridge noted for fall foliage.
Practical notes for 2026: site specific camping reservations are available through the event registration system, while cabin rentals are handled by Montebello Campground.
