Mountain Masochist Trail Run : Montebello, VA
The Mountain Masochist Trail Run is a multi-distance trail event centered at the Montebello Campground in Montebello, Virginia. Distances offered include:

The course begins and ends at Montebello Campground and follows a version of the historical MMTR route run in reverse toward the Mount Pleasant Loop. Runners use a mix of old and new trails, dirt and gravel roads through National Forest, and extended single track in the mountains. Near Mount Pleasant the route follows the Old Hotel Trail and old jeep roads toward Long Mountain Wayside. After Long Mountain aid station the second half includes dirt and old logging roads plus several miles of single track. The final aid station is at Porters Ridge, then the course descends about 3.5 miles toward the finish on Route 56 and back to the Montebello Campground. The route traverses Blue Ridge areas near typical fall foliage.

Camping options for 2026 include site specific reservations through the event registration system and cabins handled through the Montebello Campground.
