Event Overview
The Golden Harvest event takes place in Des Moines at Prospect Park, offering a series of races that cater to various ages and distances. This local running event features multiple options for participants, ranging from short sprints for children to longer endurance distances.
The following distances are available for participants:
- 13.1 miles (Half Marathon)
- 6.2 miles (10k)
- 3.1 miles (5k)
- 1 mile
- 50 m (Kid's Dash)
Race Features
The 13.1 mile, 6.2 mile, and 3.1 mile events are chip-timed, providing runners with live results and official awards. For participants in the 13.1 mile distance, pacers are available to assist with maintaining speed. The 1 mile run and the 50 m Kid's Dash are untimed events. The Kid's Dash is specifically organized for children aged 10 and under.
Registered participants receive a designer shirt, a custom bib, and a finisher medal. Special youth-based pricing is applied to children aged 12 and under for the 3.1 mile and 6.2 mile distances. For those unable to attend the physical location, a virtual race option allows for participation from any location. Photography is provided during the event, and participants can access these photos after the race. The finish line features various treats for those completing their distance.
