Golden Harvest Half Marathon & 5k/10k
The Golden Harvest Half Marathon & 5k/10k is a multi-distance running event held along the Trestle Trail in Des Moines, Iowa. This annual event offers a variety of distances to accommodate different levels of participants, including:
- Half Marathon
- 10k
- 5k
- 1 Mile
- Kid's Dash
- Virtual Run
The courses are chip-timed for the 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon distances, with live results and awards available immediately following completion. Participants in the timed events can compete for overall male and female awards, masters (40+) categories, and top three placements across various age groups. The Half Marathon includes pacers to assist runners in maintaining their target speeds.
All registered participants receive a designer shirt, a custom finisher medal, and a custom bib. The Kid's Dash is an untimed event specifically designed for children ages 10 and under, featuring a mini bib and a youth-sized shirt. For those unable to attend in person, a virtual option allows participants to run at a location of their choice and have their packets mailed to them. Snacks are provided for all participants at the finish line area, and free event photography is available.
The event proceeds regardless of rain, shine, or snow. Packet pickup is available on-site at the Trestle Trail location on the morning of the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
