Event Overview
The Turkey Trails in Kansas City is an annual Thanksgiving-themed running event held in Lee's Summit, Missouri. The event provides and broad range of distances for participants of various ages and includes professional chip-timing with live results and awards for competitive distances.
Participants receive a variety of event-related items, including a designer shirt, a custom bib, and a finisher medal. To guarantee a shirt size, registration must be completed by midnight on the Thursday falling ten days before the event date. Free photos are available to participants, and various food treats are provided at the finish line.
Distances and Participation
The event offers several race formats:
- Half Marathon: A 13.1 mile timed distance.
- 10k: A 6.2 mile timed distance with youth-based pricing for ages 12 and under.
- 5k: A 3.1 mile timed distance with youth-based pricing for ages 12 and under.
- 1 Mile: An untimed walk or run.
- Kids Dash: A 50 meter untimed dash for children aged 10 and under.
- Virtual Race: An option to complete the event remotely and receive the commemorative gear.
A volunteer participation option allows individuals to assist with event operations for 30 minutes before the start of packet pickup and then participate in any race distance of their choice. The Kids Dash offers an optional registration that includes a youth-sized shirt and a specific medal, though children may participate in the dash for free without receiving these items.
