Event Overview
The Summer Sizzler Greater Atlanta is a multi-distance running event held at Little Mulberry Park in Auburn, Georgia. This annual summer gathering provides several course lengths to accommodate different interests and experience levels. Participants can choose between the following events:
- 15K (3 laps of the course)
- 10K (2 laps of the course)
- 5K
- 1 Mile (untimed)
- Kids Dash (untimed for ages 10 and under)
The 5K, 10K, and 15K races are chip-timed with live results available immediately after the finish. These distances also offer age group awards for various categories ranging from youth to participants aged 80 and over, including overall and masters divisions. The 1 Mile and Kids Dash are untimed events focused on participation.
Participant Information
Each registered participant receives a designer shirt and a custom finisher medal. For the 5K, 10K, and 15K, registration also includes a custom bib. The Kids Dash registration provides a mini bib, youth-sized shirt, and a specific medal. Participants must register by the specified deadline two Thursdays before the event to guarantee their shirt.
The event features several amenities at the finish line, including free Kona Ice and photos. For those unable to attend in person, a virtual race option allows individuals to complete their chosen distance at a location and time of their preference while still receiving the event swag via mail. The race proceeds regardless of rain or snow, and the course is designed to use local park paths to minimize disruption to the local community.
