The Bluegrass Mile & Trotters 5k takes place on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Red Mile, 1200 Red Mile Rd, Lexington, KY 40504. The event includes a mile race and a 5k. Registration opens January 1, 2026 at 12:47pm EST. Entry fees listed are $12 for the mile and $20 for the 5k. This is the fourth annual Bluegrass Mile.
Course and logistics
The mile is run on the Red Mile dirt track, a smooth, packed surface covering eight furlongs or 1 mile (5,280 feet). The new Trotters 5k route starts on the track, exits for a short out-and-back section, then returns to the track to complete a lap of the inner circuit. Organizers will seed mile runners into heats based on sign-ups; if numbers permit, mile and 5k runners may start together. Strollers and dogs are not allowed.
