Bluegrass Half Marathon and Relays
The Bluegrass Half Marathon and Relays takes place Sunday, September 27, 2026, in Johnson City, Tennessee, with activities centered at Founder’s Park Pavilion. The event offers multiple participation formats and a virtual option.

The course starts on Commerce Street beside Wild Wing Cafe and finishes in the Pavilion parking lot. Relay exchange points are Local Motion on Alabama Street, Southside Elementary School for the two person relay, and the Tomy Thai parking lot at State of Franklin and Lyle Street. The course is USATF certified. Aid includes water and Gatorade at exchange areas and three additional stations located at the Burley Parking Lot, the corner of Walnut and Earnest Streets, and Market Street at Gold Star Boulevard.
Entry fees listed at the time of posting are $50 for individuals, $40 per entrant for 2 to 4 person relays, and $30 for virtual entrants. Packet pickup is offered the day before and the morning of the event at designated locations. Late registration is available at packet pickup.
Awards include trophies for overall and age group leaders and medals for finishers; race bibs are required to receive a medal. No dogs or strollers are permitted on the course. The event relies on a large volunteer crew, with about 200 volunteers requested for race week. Refunds are generally not provided; transfers, switching to the virtual option, or deferral to the next year are offered instead. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
