Bluegrass Half Marathon and Relays, Johnson City TN
The Bluegrass Half Marathon and Relays takes place in Johnson City, Tennessee on Sunday, September 27, 2026. The event includes a traditional half marathon, relay options and a virtual entry option allowing participants to record and submit their own time.
The on-road course begins on Commerce Street beside Wild Wing Cafe and finishes in the parking lot at the Pavilion. Relay exchange locations include Local Motion on Alabama Street, Southside Elementary School for the two-person exchange, and the Tomy Thai parking lot at State of Franklin and Lyle Street. The course is USATF certified.
There are multiple beverage stations along the route. Each relay exchange area offers drinks, and additional water and Gatorade stations are located near the Burley parking lot at Legion Street and State of Franklin, the corner of Walnut Street and Earnest Street, and Market Street at Gold Star Boulevard across from Krispy kreme.
Awards include trophies for overall and masters categories and age group trophies by specified ranges. Medals are presented to all runners and walkers who complete the race; participants must have a race bib to receive a medal. Packet pickup is available at a location the day before the race and near the start and finish at the Pavilion on race morning.
The event has a no refund policy with alternatives such as entry transfer, switching to the virtual option, or deferring registration.
