Event overview
The Blueberry Cove Half Marathon is a charitable half marathon held on August 23, 2026, to support UMaine Cooperative Extension 4-H Camp & Learning Centers at Tanglewood & Blueberry Cove. The event is the 15th annual running of the race and is held at Blueberry Cove Camp in Tenants Harbor, Maine. Registration is $100 and the field is capped at 250 runners and walkers. All participants receive a finisher medal. Awards are given to 1st place male and female overall and in these age divisions: 18 & under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 plus. There are no cash prizes.
Course and race details
The course is a 13.1-mile route that circumnavigates the lower St. George peninsula with the start and finish at Blueberry Cove Camp off Harts Neck Road. The route includes rural back roads, gentle hills, ocean views, Port Clyde and its fishing fleet, Marshall Point Lighthouse, Drift Inn Beach, and beachside sections. The race features mile markers for all 13 miles, water stations approximately every 2 miles, and official finish times for participants. Walkers may participate and are not timed.
Logistics and facilities
Bibs are available for pick-up on Saturday afternoon and on race morning before the event. There is a pre-race chowder supper and a post-race buffet brunch. Facilities include bathrooms at the start and finish, four porta-potty locations along the route, and limited shower facilities at the camp. Pets are not allowed except service animals; baby strollers are permitted. Rustic on-site cabins and tent spaces are available for a fee.
