Event Details
The Blueberry Cove Half Marathon is the 15th annual event for the Midcoast Maine area. It starts and finishes at Blueberry Cove Camp, located at 22 Blueberry Cove Road in Tenants Harbor. The race is a fundraiser, with all proceeds supporting the University of Maine Cooperative Extension 4-H Camp & Learning Centers at Tanglewood and Blueberry Cove.
Race Information
The event is a 13.1-mile road race that circles the lower St. George peninsula. The route features rural back roads, gentle hills, and ocean views, passing through locations like Port Clyde, the Marshall Point Lighthouse, and Drift Inn Beach.
Registration is $100. The race is capped at 250 participants and there is no race-day registration. Registration fees are non-refundable.
Awards and Amenities
Awards are given to the first-place male and female overall, as well as winners in age divisions from 18 & under to 70+. All participants receive a finisher medal. The event provides mile markers, water stations approximately every two miles, and a post-race brunch.
Pre-Race Activities
On the day before the race, there is a bib pick-up from 2:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., followed by a chowder supper from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The supper costs $25 for adults and $5 for children, with vegan options available.
Spectator and Participant Information
Walkers are welcome to participate. Baby strollers are allowed, but pets are not permitted except for service animals. Limited shower facilities are available for runners after the race. Limited rustic cabin lodging is available on-site for $20-$25 per person, and tent space can be rented for $10 per person. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
