Bluebell Trail Run - Dalkeith
The Bluebell Trail Run is a community trail event at Dalkeith Country Park, scheduled for 9 May 2027. Races take place from a race village at Dalkeith Palace and proceeds after event costs support MYPAS, a charity providing health and wellbeing services for young people in Midlothian, East Lothian and the Scottish Borders.
Distances
- 1 kilometre for children 11 years and under; children 5 years and younger must be accompanied.
- 5K with a minimum age of 12 years.
- 10K with a minimum age of 16 years.
Races are chip timed and all finishers receive handcrafted, unique medals made by volunteers and local schools. Entries are not available on the day. Participants can collect race numbers and timing chips at the race village on the morning of the event.
Facilities and logistics include a bag drop tent and a small unisex marquee for belongings. There is car parking in Dalkeith Country Park with a parking charge payable by card. Public transport options include local Lothian bus services to Dalkeith High Street and the Borders Railway to Eskbank station, from which the park is walkable.
Trail-specific guidance notes that trail shoes with good grip are recommended, headphones are discouraged for safety, dogs are not permitted on the course, and runners should take care around long grass because of possible ticks. Volunteer roles support marshalling, registration and finish-line tasks. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
